I watched Schindler’s List and tears slid down my face. Years ago I tried to read the book. It was so gruesome, I had to stop partway, then saw the movie and could finish the book. Now I see it again and it seems soooo much worse? better? I couldn’t wait for Oscar to leave the the women alone and get involved in saving his people (Jews). Once again, how do people live through such horrors? How could people say it never happen? Should be mandatory everyone see it.

An adult novel
$12.00, including tax
AnnaMarie Whitson, a widow in her twilight years, has spent five years caring for her ill husband. Now she is determined to become an independent woman. Her adult children expect her to serve as their babysitter and
maintain their childhood home. She attends her high school reunion and becomes re-acquainted with Jay, a boyfriend from the past. Can AnnaMarie and Jay overcome their family’s objections and retrieve the morning of their lives?
Fellows cheated. Writers aren’t supposed to end a story with a death!!! That’s like letting your protagonist escape a situation by waking up. “It was a dream.” If the next installment were coming next week, it’s be okay. Now we have to wait forever to find out what happened next. Like “Who shot JR?” It worked for him though. When we spent a month in Romania “back in my day,” if we said we were from Texas, the next question was Dallas? I was soooo disappointed and sad for the family.
I just finished a book on my Nook and before I could stop myself, I had ordered The Sisters by Nancy Jensen.
I had read the sample but not ordered it yet. Couldn’t resist. Now I can’t get important work done so I can cross it off my Feb. list for thinking about Mable and Bertie. I find the best books make me stay with them. After I finished The Secret Keeper, I didn’t want to read anything else. Might take me out of the main character’s life. Just wanted to keep thinking about what she would do next.
Tomorrow I go to Book Club on Valentine’s Day. Someone will review a favorite book of hers and we will all want to read it. Hope she doesn’t tell so much that we will feel like we have already read it.
How exciting! I am learning to use facebook to connect with all my friends. Also I am trying blogs.
The reason I have not friended some of you is because I didn’t know how. My friend Chantee Hale is helping me and I hope when she leaves I can do it alone. I will be checking Facebook and blogging as much as time and interest permits.
